TriMet riders will see some price and schedule changes in September.
On Friday, Sept 1, TriMet ticket and monthly pass fares will increase to help cover the cost of inflation. In addition, service changes on lines 4-Fessenden and 6-Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in North and Northeast Portland will start Sunday, Sept. 3.
Individual ticket prices will increase 5 cents; monthly passes will increase $2. Two-zone cash fares will rise by 5 cents to $1.70, and all-zone cash fares will increase 5 cents to $2.
The Line 4-Fessenden temporary route, serving the new St. Johns Safeway store, will become permanent.
Because of the route change, buses will start their trip from Richmond and Syracuse streets four minutes earlier. No change will be made to the schedule between Fessenden Street and Columbia Way and Portland City Center. Buses traveling to St. Johns will arrive at the end of the line two minutes later than before.
Schedules will be adjusted up to nine minutes on 6-Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard buses to improve schedule reliability. Changes include:
• Most weekday inbound trips to Portland will remain the same.
• Most outbound trips times to Vancouver will change two to five minutes.
• Saturday trips from Portland and Sunday trips from Vancouver will leave one to five minutes earlier.
New bus schedules are available online at www.trimet.org. Schedules also will be available the last week of August on buses, at the TriMet ticket office in Pioneer Courthouse Square or at Fred Meyer, Safeway and most Albertson's stores.
