The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded $31.7 million in grants to 75 fair housing organizations across the country as part of its FY 2024 budget, providing crucial support to initiatives aimed at eliminating housing discrimination. Among the recipients are two Washington, D.C.-based organizations, the National Fair Housing Alliance (NFHA) and the Equal Rights Center, each receiving over $400,000.

 Attorneys representing nine living patients and the estates of nine patients who died filed a wrongful death and medical malpractice complaint on Tuesday. They accused Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford of negligence and are seeking over $300 million in damages. The former nurse was arrested in June and charged with 44 counts of second-degree assault. She has pleaded not guilty.

The National Park Foundation was created by Congress in the 1960s to support national parks. It will receive the donation from Indianapolis-based foundation Lilly Endowment Inc. The park foundation described the gift on Monday as the largest grant in history benefiting the U.S.'s national parks.
