Sharon Banks recently received the Crew Person of the Year Award, an annual performance-based award that recognizes the top performing ”crew” in McDonald’s company-owned or independently owned and operated restaurants. This award was established to honor crew employees – those who make founder Ray Kroc’s vision of excellence come to life in restaurants and for customers each day.
The Crew Person of the Year Award honors the top crew employee in each of McDonald’s 22 regions across the United States. Established in 2002, the award spotlights the contributions crew employees make to McDonald’s business of delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.
One employee per region was chosen this year to receive the Crew Person of the Year Award, an honor that comes with a cash prize, plaque, pin and more.
“I want to be the best crew leader, the best person that I can be to my ability, and provide the best hospitality service experience to our customers to keep them coming back into our restaurant,” said Sharon Banks. “We enjoy seeing our customers from the community every day and adding a bright spot to their day.”
Ray Kroc built the McDonald’s business on the belief that greatness can only be achieved through the dedication and support of a Company’s people. Award programs at McDonald’s were established based on his commitment to people and recognizing their contributions to the organization he helped establish. Each year, this prestigious award is given to one crew employee per region to recognize their superior performance and customer service.
“We are thrilled to honor Sharon with the Crew Person of the Year Award,” said local owner operators Mark and Janelle Bynum. “Sharon has worked at our locally owned and operated McDonald’s for over six years as a valued employee. She continuously provides exceptional customer service to guests and truly is a shining example of the best of McDonald’s.”
McDonald’s owner/operators and/or regional staff nominate employees for the Crew Person of the Year Award to recognize their hard work, dedication and commitment to McDonald’s. From there, a selection committee of representatives from McDonald’s Operations, Training and Human Resources select the top McDonald’s Restaurant Crew for the Award.
